Food Chain
A food chain is an arrangement of organisms based on what eats what. A food chain is a small scale diagram that shows an organism, what that organism can be eaten/preyed on by and what feeds/kills that organism. An example of a food chain of animals on land and in water are shown below. The website below also shows an easy representation of a food chain on land.
Food Web
A food web is a series of interrelated food chains that provide a more accurate picture of the feeding relationships in an ecosystem, as more than one thing will usually eat a particular species. In shorter words, a food web is a more specific, longer food chain. As you can see by the example below, a food web is often very complicated and includes lots of organisms.
